How much is my council tax?

Almost all homes are subject to council tax. There is one council tax bill for each home, whether it is a house, bungalow, flat, maisonette, mobile home or houseboat, and whether it is owned or rented.

Each property is in one of eight bands according to its estimated value at 1 April 1991. You can find out the council tax band for your home by looking up your property on GOV.UK using your postcode.
