What do I do if my stairlift has broken?

This depends on the age of the stairlift, whether it was installed by the council and whether you own your own home. Please see the range of advice given below, or you may contact Adult Social Care customer services for further advice.

  • If your stairlift / through floor lift is broken, the action you need to take depends on the age of the stairlift / through floor lift, whether it was installed by the council and who the property is owned by.
  • If your property is owned by Cross Keys, please contact their repairs team on 0800 328 2742 who should be able to arrange to have the stairlift / through floor lift serviced. If the stairlift / through floor lift cannot be repaired, contact Adult Social Care customer services.
  • If you own your property or it is owned by a housing association (other than Cross Keys) and the stairlift / through floor lift was fitted by the council, please contact the company who fitted the stairlift / through floor lift to determine if it is under warranty. If it is not, you will be responsible for ensuring the stairlift / through floor lift is serviced. If you have had it serviced and you have been informed it cannot be repaired, please contact Adult Social Care customer services to discuss your needs.
